Industrial UPS Factory Acceptance Testing — Switzerland
PSPP provided independent Factory Acceptance Test witnessing and final inspection services for four industrial uninterruptible power supply units manufactured for a major energy infrastructure project. The four-day assignment was completed at a specialist power-systems manufacturing facility in Switzerland.

- 4
- Industrial UPS units inspected and tested
- 2
- Critical plant power-supply systems covered
- 4 days
- FAT and final inspection duration
- 0
- Functional deviations identified during witnessed testing
The Challenge
Industrial UPS systems must maintain stable and uninterrupted electrical power for critical equipment during normal operation, supply disturbances and emergency conditions. The assignment required comprehensive verification of rectifier, inverter, bypass, alarm, communication and dynamic operating functions across multiple UPS units, together with confirmation of their physical condition and associated quality documentation.
Scope & Approach
PSPP witnessed and reviewed the Factory Acceptance Testing of four industrial UPS units allocated to two critical plant systems. The inspection was conducted progressively over four consecutive days in accordance with the approved Inspection and Test Plan, technical specifications, electrical design criteria and applicable system drawings. The witnessed activities included rectifier electrical tests, inverter electrical tests, static and bypass-path verification, distribution checks, functional testing, alarm and indication checks, dynamic tests and communication-interface verification. Following completion of the functional testing, PSPP performed visual and dimensional inspection of the assembled equipment and verified equipment identification and tagging against the approved documentation.
The Outcome
The planned FAT and final inspection activities were completed across all four UPS units without identified functional deviations during the witnessed tests. Visual, dimensional and equipment-identification checks were completed, and the inspected systems were accepted for packing and shipment following closure of the applicable inspection and documentation requirements.
